I love the shape of the second gen Honda insight and recently drove one for a bit and really liked the car alot.
These things are so cheap right now and I’m really debating buying one, they get double the gas mileage I get in my Buick and the low end torque, while not Prius levels of quick is very nice.
I honestly am thinking about getting one
Seriously it’s shaped like a four door CR-Z, or a modern four door CRX

The insight is the rebel Prius. If it works for you, go full oppo and get lowering springs to improve the aero and handling

I’ve never driven one, but I always thought they look a lot better than the prius.

I drove o
ne for a few years. The drivetrain is nice, and the CVT works well, but the rest of the car is obviously built to a cost target. The dashboard seems awkward not having a proper center stack, the gray plastic and upholstery is boring AF, and one can’t find the correct CVT oil anywhere but at Honda dealerships. Oh, and the battery wears out rather quickly.

I’d probably buy a Prius V over it. But prices could change that

I see plenty of these in LA but I also see so many damn Prii that its a nice change of scenery to see one of these instead. I am generally confused at first, thinking that its just a weird looking Prius until I notice the big H instead of a T.

I considered one, but I figured a used Volt would still be better.

A used volt isn't less than 6 grand tho

Less than 6 grand in my area for a 2010-11 insight, I'm thinking about a '10 with 135k for 5000$

All Honda interiors usually follow form over function, I drove one so I noticed the interior might be a bit if. Dongrade from my Buick, but it want too much of a problem to me

I don't really see where people say it's exactly like a Prius, I see similarities, but I see more Civic and CRX in it

True. I definitely haven’t seen that low in my neck of the woods. The only used Insights I’ve seen have been in the $ 8-10k CAD range (or higher, and the cheapest Volt I could probably get my hands on would be $13 k+ (CAD). I figure, though, if I’m going to go h ybrid, I may as well get a plug-in hybrid.

The reason is that the rear of it looks kind of like a prius.
It is just the way that the rear window looks and that little black window as well. It doesn’t look THAT similar side by side, but the Insight does kind of just look like a weird prius. That plus my sublminal thought of the Insight just being Honda’s Prius, makes me connect that.
